👍 Worth It
A genuinely fun premise — bug-like creatures stealing kids' summer vacations — that lands well with the 8-12 crowd and reluctant readers in particular. The humor is light and the pacing is brisk, and having a diverse protagonist is a real plus. The time-theft mechanics are hand-wavy and the villains are thin, but for the target audience those are minor complaints.
