Madalena Moniz won a Bologna Ragazzi prize for a reason — the watercolor artwork is striking and the A-to-Z emotional range gives kids language for feelings they don't usually get to name. Some of the letter-feeling pairings are abstract enough that adults will want to talk through them, but that conversation is part of the value.
