Voting in Elections

Part of Capstone's 'First Facts: Our Government' series, this slim nonfiction book introduces early elementary students to what elections are, why people vote, and why civic participation matters. It does its classroom job — accessible vocabulary, simple sentences, supporting visuals, nonpartisan framing — without pretending to be more than it is. For a young child encountering the concept of voting for the first time, that is exactly what is needed. The honest caveats are baked into the format: the scope is very narrow by design, it reads as information rather than story, and no independent critical reviews were located to assess its execution. Works best as a classroom or library supplement rather than a standalone home read.
