Joan Lowery Nixon was a respected children's mystery author and this early chapter book series has a likable diverse-friend-group setup, but the title has been out of print for decades with essentially no modern critical presence. At 96 pages the mystery plotting is light, and sourcing a copy is a project in itself. Worth checking out of a library if you happen across it, but not worth hunting down.
