A warm, emotionally honest picture book that doesn't sanitize the initial ambivalence of becoming a big sibling — that's its real strength. But it follows the new-sibling genre formula closely enough that families who already own a Rosemary Wells or Kevin Henkes sibling book won't find much new here.
