When Christmas Feels Like Home

Gretchen Griffith · 2014
82/100
👍 Worth It

Eduardo's carved Nativity scene becomes a beautifully chosen anchor for a story about belonging — faith, family memory, and the slow realization that home travels with you. Carolina Farias's luminescent paintings and Griffith's lyrical prose make this one of the more quietly moving immigration picture books around. The resolution comes gently rather than dramatically, but that restraint suits the subject.
