If your kid watched Alex Mack reruns and wants to revisit that world with a holiday twist, this delivers exactly what it promises. But tie-in fiction rarely transcends its source, and this one lacks any critical record to suggest it does. The premise is cheerful and the values are wholesome β it just does not have much life outside its original 1990s fan context.
